Artistic Director of EX-Theatre Asia. Born in Manipur, northeast India, he is immersed in the body culture of traditional dance, martial arts and yoga. He graduated from the History Department of Manipur University, and Master’s Degree in Acting of National School of Drama, New Delhi. He was hired as a national actor in India.
He is good at telling stories in the theater. Trained in traditional and modern acting, Jayanta actively cultivates Taiwan's new generation talents as a new resident artist in Taiwan, continues to explore intercultural communication and contemporary physical expression, with Asian culture and transform it into contemporary theatrical aesthetics.
He has been nominated by Taishin Art Awards several times, including A True Calling which has been listed as top ten performances in the year of 2010. He has also been invited to numerous international art festivals. In addition to playwright, director, actor and teaching abilities, he is also committed to developing his unique theatre philosophy and actor training system of "theatre of essence", as the exploration and practice of performance training methods.
